A reissue of this first edition was published in the same year, with a new title-page and final leaf, and has the imprint "London: Printed in the Year, 1744." A second edition was also printed in 1744. Rare, ESTC locating 3 copies in UK and 3 in North America; Kress, 4739; Goldsmith, 8068.

Sievwright's "Principles, Political and Religious" was published in 1767. Report from the General Meeting for Ackworth School showing that the expenditure of the Institution has considerably exceeded the income, and a proposal to the Yearly Meeting that the price of admission be raised from eight to ten guineas per annum. The details given include, 'A Statement of Accounts', 'An Inventory of the Estate and Effects belonging to this Institution, and Debts owing by it', 'Legacies and Donations', 'Officers and Servants' and the number of children, both boys (176) and girls (124).

16mo., First Edition, on laid paper; attractively bound in twentieth century grey boards, paper label lettered and ruled in black on upper board, small marginal chip in D4 (not affecting text), a remarkably bright, fresh, clean copy. Most attractive copy of a none-too-subtle satire on the supposed power of the Scots in the English establishment and society. The barb was evidently a popular one, for it reissued in the same year with a third printing in 1780. Rare.
