A contemporary account in verse of an altercation during the Fall term of 1815 involving Yale students at a tavern in Dragon now Fair Haven Heights. Hill read the poem at a meeting of the Scientific Club and sixty years later after his death his classmate W.C. Fowler caused it to be printed with the final page turned over to a densely set explanatory "Note." Hill published at least two volumes of verse during his lifetime was anthologized by E.C. Stedman and edited an anthology of British poets. The publisher William Chauncey Fowler 1793 -1881 was Noah Webster's son-in-law and led a full life as educator pastor author and lexicographer. Deze werken ogen doorgaans heel fraai maar verkeren vaak in slechte staat. Al te veel vind je een grote variatie aan weinig opvallende schade terug die de boeken op termijn ernstig kan bedreigen. Het provinciebestuur van Antwerpen startte daarom in maart 2005 het project Bewaarbibliotheken in de provincie Antwerpen. Onderzoek en aanbevelingen voor toekomstig behoud en beheer. Binnen dit project werd een methodiek op basis van de Fussler-techniek ontwikkeld om op een efficiente en betrouwbare wijze de fysieke toestand van een boekencollectie te bepalen. Aan de hand van deze methode werd een collectiecontrole uitgevoerd in tien Antwerpse kloosterbibliotheken. Dit boek is de neerslag van een jaar onderzoek en biedt - naast een rijk geillustreerd overzicht van de verschillende schadebeelden die manuscripten en boeken kunnen vertonen - ook concrete voorstellen om de problemen te behandelen en te voorkomen.
