Poco si sa di Regnard, se non che fu un incisore francese che trascorse gran parte della sua vita lavorativa a Roma realizzando belle incisioni dei magnifici edifici e delle antichità. Quest'opera di Regnard fu pubblicata a Roma da Francois Collignon nel 1650, senza titolo, ma in un insieme noto come Praecipua urbis templa. Le tavole mostrano prospetti, sezioni e piante di chiese romane del XVI e XVII secolo, con didascalie che le identificano e i loro architetti (con occasionali attribuzioni errate). Includono lavori di Carlo Maderno, G. della Porta, F. da Volterra, la famiglia Longhi, G.B. Soria e molti altri. Rara. Chiesa del Gesù. The plates show elevations, sections and plans of 16th- and 17th-century Roman churches, with captions identifying them and their architects (with occasional misattributions). They include work by Carlo Maderno, G. della Porta, F. da Volterra, the Longhi family, G.B. Soria and many others. Rare.
