Originally issued by Henry Brothers in 1894 wrappers this is an early reprint by a small evangelical publishing house. A classic example of waltz-hysteria literature which appears to have infected American shores somewhat later than the Continent. The author a former dancing-master warns that the girl who learns to waltz is but one short fatal step from learning to boogie: ".the girl whose blood is hot from the exertion of the Waltz and whose every carnal sense is aroused.who entered the dancing school as pure and innocent as an angel three months ago returns to her home that night robbed of that most precious jewel of womanhood--virtue!" Blue cloth boards have a bit of fading to top edges and to spine and some light general soiling. Shelfwear to edge and corners bumped some wear to head and tail a bit stronger to tail. Age-toning light foxing and some dust soiling to edges of text block. Interior age-toned with discoloration and light foxing to endpapers otherwise clean.
