Wild Palms consists of two interwoven short stories with opposing perspectives on love and sacrifice and is one of Faulkner's most experimental works. "When I reached the end of what is now the first section of The Wild Palms I realized suddenly that something was missing it needed emphasis something to lift it like counterpoint in music.
