The rest of spine in pieces frankly. Spine cloth and lower front board sunned. <br/><br/>The second and final collection of Faulkner poems published in his lifetime. One of the most influential writers of the twentieth century his reputation is based mostly on his novels novellas and short stories so his poems may come as a surprise to many. As the front flap states this volume "shows another facet of a talent which has already expressed itself in novels ." <br /> <br />Artist Lynd Kendall Ward was known for his wood engravings such as the one on the front of this jacket. His wordless illustrated books influenced the development of the graphic novel. Although strongly associated with his wood engravings he also worked in watercolor oil brush and ink lithography and mezzotint.
