A meditation on "my little world" written when she and fellow poet Lewis Warsh were living on St. Mark's Place in the East Village. The poem is dated December 3 1967 but was published by their Angel Hair imprint in 1968. Folio 14 inches / 35.7 cm 4 unnumbered leaves in stapled printed wrappers featuring a beautiful cover illustration by George Schneeman who often collaborated with New York School poets. Pages lightly toned some soiling to the covers half-inch tear and some rippling to the rear cover page. A Very Good copy. OCLC WorldCat lists 21 institutional holdings of this edition. Corinth reprinted Giant Night in 1970; that edition is readily obtainable. This true first edition though is very scarce to the market especially in acceptable collectible condition. A volume of poems by the important New York School poet. 8vo 86 1 pages in bound decorated wrappers. Near Fine with only slight cover wear. This copy has been boldly INSCRIBED to "Harvey Donegan" by Padgett on the half-title page and INSCRIBED again to the same recipient by Brainard with illustrations on the last page. Rare decorated publisher's announcement card laid in inviting recipients to "a party for Ron" at the Gotham Book Mart in New York. The card's design is the same as the book covers designed by Joe Brainard. A beautiful copy of the book and the party invitation. <br/><br/>This is one of numerous collaborations between two well-known figures in the New York School literary and art scene. They had begun collaborating while in high school in Tulsa producing The White Dove Review in 1959-60. This volume in wrappers was published simultaneously with a hardcover edition. While signed copies of the hardcover edition can be found in the market signed copies of the wrappered issue are much less common especially in such a nice condition as this and with the rare party invitation.
