First Edition. <br /><br />Quarto 11 x 8 3/4 inches; 280 x 222 mm 28 mimeographed pages with drawings on paper attached to the stapled card wrappers. <br /><br />A long poem by the celebrated Cleveland poet and publisher d.a. levy 1942-1968. In a "pre-face" levy writes: "you don't understand poetry -- poets gamble with life on occasion -- but usually they're just pimps for the system -- the total real meaning of this poem is i dont understand what its all about." Except he really did know what he was writing about: east Cleveland hopelessness despair dreams reality and unreality. <br /><br />The book features front and rear cover drawings by Barb O'Connelly "drawings are mimeo stencils cut with a can opener." <br /><br />An interesting addition to the Cleveland poetry scene published in 1968 just months before levy committed suicide at age 26. <br /><br />CONDITION: Some soiling to wrappers light edge wear internally clean bright and unmarked. Poster announces a mammouth poetry reading bonanza to take place on April 19 at Town Hall no year provided. Some of the contributing poets and artists for these events included Taylor Mead Larry Rivers John Ashbery Philip Glass Kenward Elmslie Joe Brainard Helen Adam Laurie Anderson Bob Kushner and many many more.
