Scarce first edition in English of one of the great underground books of twentieth-century French erotica featuring verse by Péret and Aragon and four photographs by Man Ray featuring Kiki of Montparnasse. Originally printed clandestinely in an edition of 215 copies in Belgium most copies were seized at the border and never reached France. The Alyscamps edition of 1996 is the first edition in English. Translated and signed by "Zoltan Lizot-Picon" actually a collaboration between Christopher Sawyer-Laucanno and Mark Polizzotti. A fine copy in wrappers as issued. Alyscamps Press unknown

Central portion of text is a portfolio-like collection of 12 illustrations by Picasso done in black each approximately 9" x 11" and set within a pink border that fills in the rest of the page. Before each sketch is a facsimile leaf in Picasso's hand that dates its day of creation. And facing each sketch is a leaf of Picasso "scribbles" printed in red. This "section" has its own black ribbon fore-edge tie. Edition limited to 1000 numbered copies this is #227. Dust jacket soiled water stained price clipped and chipped with several closed tears. D. j. is not pretty but is 95% intact. Boards with old water stains and a tide mark on spine & rear cover. A mammoth collection of recipes collected under the supervision of journalist editor film maker he was the assistant director on Eisenstein's ¡Que viva Mexico! in 1932 and gastonome Agustín Aragón Leiva who was a dedicated enthusiast for regional Mexican cuisine later credited by Diana Kennedy with introducing her to many local foods and allowing her the use of his library -reportedly the most extensive culinary library in Mexico and a sort of Grimod de la Reyniere figure in Mexican cuisine in his later years.
