Featured alongside Bret Harte & Joaquin Miller are poems by California women poets Ina Coolbrith 1841-1928 a co-editor of the Overland Monthly and the first woman to become an honorary member of the Bohemian Club became California’s first poet laureate in 1915; and Hester Benedict Dickinson 1838-1921 who was a founder of the California Writers Club and served as president of the Pacific Coast Women’s Press Assoc.
