1960355490719644London 1960. For Your Eyes Only" serialisation in Weekend London: Associated Newspapers May 18-22 1960. First Edition. Very Good condition 'paper magazine' from May 18th 1960. "WEEKEND" was a weekly paper published by Associated Newspapers in the 50's and 60's. This edition is a special one as includes the first episode of a serialised 'New ' as of Spring 1960 Ian Fleming James Bond Story 'For Your Eyes Only'.the Book of short stories by Ian Fleming containing 'For Your Eyes only' had been published approximately 4 weeks earlier in April 1960. The Paper is in fantastic condition given that it is over 60 years old; it has obvious light discolouration of paper as to be expected with newsprint but has no significant bends/creases to paper. The serialisation contained a superb colour illustration by Oliver Brabbins of a blonde in a yellow dress wearing a pearl necklace looking down on another woman who appears to have been shot or injured to the head next door to an prostrate man presumably also shot: "Judy's world was so safe. until the strangers called with half a million dollars - and two ugly blazing guns.". Rare. I have been collecting Fleming and Bondiana and have never encountered this newspaper before. One for the Fleming completist. Photographs/scans available upon request. unknown
