In 8° (cm 9,6 x 16,8), legatura piena pelle coeva con titoli e fregi in oro al dorso, pp 491, deliziosa antiporta incisa in rame raffigurante allegoria del Matrimonio: due cuoricini posano su sontuoso letto a baldacchino che amorini paffuti e burloni stanno approntando, trafiggendosi vicendevolmente con frecce, impugnando il sonaglio simbolo della Follia; sul pavimento: una culla, un ramificato paio di corna, un pitale, libri gettati in un canto, forse i registri nuziali, un sorcio che schizza via per la stanza, simboli di una quotidianità disincantata che attende ironicamente al varco gli ignari protagonisti, i cui ritratti vegliano sornionamente appesi alle pareti della stanza da letto. Esemplare in buone condizioni, uniformi bruniture e rade macchie di ruggine. Il frontespizio reca la dicitura: "Tome second": l'opera è tuttavia completa in se stessa, il "Tome premier" contenendo altro poema eroicomico ("La Thériacade", ) dello stesso A. (1711-1780), identificato dal Barbier (Tome IV, Supplément, col. 709). Satira del matrimonio in queste rocambolesche e bislacche "nozze di Diabotano", ma non solo, anche dei "ridicules" della società del tempo: il gusto sfrenato per il lusso tipicamente femminile, rovina dei patrimoni maschili; la dipendenza del tabacco, di cui non si più più fare a meno; la sifilide che imperversa a causa della dissolutezza, invano contrastata dai rimedi di Fracastoro; la voga astrologica, esoterica e alchemica, espressa nella grottesca ammirazione e cieca fede del protagonista per Paracelso, Becher, Artephius Esemplari censiti in CCFr.
