Collated complete.An early French edition identified via the endpapers matching those used for 'Johnny Town Mouse' in 1918 Linder Design 6 but with two additional illustrations not present in the first French edition.Potter's beloved tale of Peter Rabbit following the young Peter as he is chased through Mr. McGregor's garden.An initial French translation had been under consideration since as early as 1907 but Beatrix Potter was unhappy with the version then proposed; in 1912 three further translators were approached by Warne and of the translations supplied Potter felt that the one by Victorine Ballon was the most suitable.
