Foxing to page edges. White pictorial wrapper has a few small green marks to front panel and is just ever so slightly grubby foxed and browned on verso. 5 x 4.25 IN. APPROX That was written and illustrated by Beatrix Potter. Miss Moppet the story's eponymous main character is a kitten teased by a mouse. While pursuing him she bumps her head on a cupboard. She then wraps a duster about her head and sits before the fire "looking very ill". The curious mouse creeps closer is captured "and because the Mouse has teased Miss MoppetMiss Moppet thinks she will tease the Mouse; which is not at all nice of Miss Moppet". She ties him up in the duster and tosses him about. However the mouse makes his escape and once safely out of reach dances a jig atop the cupboard. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. CONDITION: VG-. Cover is quite attractive although very lightly soiled by use minor dampstain along outer edge of front cover paper cover worn through along about half the front edge of spine and a little at top of spine quarter inch of cover missing from base of spine cover on spine is slightly loose at the bottom and would pull away if due care not used has not been repaired. Upper page edges lightly soiled binding slightly weak at a couple of pages; outer page edges have slight ripple; outer half-inch of endpapers lightly soiled personalized gift inscripion in neat old script "To child's name from mother and father 1 Sept 03" on front free endpaper; a few pages have very minor soil at the binding.
