Includes black-and-white photos and illustrations throughout as well as a full-page map at rear. Frank A. Beckwith 1876-1951 was a newspaper editor and amateur anthropologist from Delta Utah who was fascinated with Native American artifacts and petroglyphs. With the help of a Paiute man named Joseph J. Pickyavit known locally as Indian Joe Beckwith traveled around the region and attempted to interpret the many petroglyphs he found.
