A complete set of Irving's Sharkespeare bound in red half calf with red cloth boards. The book are extremely clean throughout occasionally with minor foxing lovely creamy pages. There are numerous woodcut illustrations. The bindings are tight and clean with signs of rubbing to extremities and some delamination of the leather. The joints of three volumes are sound the final volume having the front joint cracked and with loss to leather on front board. This one also has a scrape to the spine. He also fought in the Great Plains Indian Wars and though they continued until after his death his efforts during this conflict helped protect Yellowstone National Park and he was promoted to General of the Army in the year of his death 1888.
