Le traducteur a également joint trois autres essais et articles relatifs à la thermodynamique. Martine mourut aux Amériques lors d'une expédition en 1741 et ne vit pas le succès de ses recherches. Cette série d'essais fut la première critique sérieuse du thermomètre à 80 degrés de Réaumur.
