Although the 10-volume set of his lectures is ubiquitous OCLC records no copies of this booklet which announces that he "will give his fully illustrated series entitled The Capitals of Europe at Carll's Opera House" New Haven CT over five nights in January and February. Detailed information is provided about each of five lectures: I Madrid and Lisbon; II Paris The Capital of Pleasure; III Berlin and Sans-Souci; IV St. Petersburg; and V Constantinople The Portal of the Orient. The back panel gives a rather unsatisfactory explanation for the item's shape: "This circular has been printed in this form to enable the holder to detach the pages referring to the different evenings and use as an evening program if desired." Six-panel accordion-folded booklet cut into an unusual shape a rectangle with two corners cut off. One short closed tear minor foxing at the folds. John L. Vance Randolph 1890-1982 was best known for his studies of the folklore of the Ozarks but--somewhat ironically-- this pamphelt is dedicating to conveying the aspects of Davy Crockett's story did not belong to the realm of folklore. Most of the content is drawn from Crockett's autobiography with material on the last four months of his life taken from the 1836 book Randolph refers to as "Colonel Crockett's Texas Adventures" actually called "Col.
