Near Fine with moderate soiling to covers; interior overall clean and bright.<br /> <br /> <p>A very early expose of the Bennewitz affair in which a successful American businessman with an interest in UFOs was allegedly manipulated by Air Force intelligence agents into spreading disinformation. Bennewitz eventually suffered a mental breakdown and had to be hospitalized. Author and UFO researcher William Moore part of an informal intelligence/UFOlogist group called The Aviary later claimed that he had been recruited to feed Bennewitz false information in order to destabilize him. Bennewitz's descent into madness was profiled in the 2005 book Project Beta and the 2013 documentary Mirage Men which suggested that the government created UFO hoaxes as a smokescreen for classified activity.
