The letter 1p. 8vo is a circular and in it Keenan writes: 'Do not be alarmed at the sudden appearance of these instructions. Rather accept them as a fact that some one has your interests at heart'. The instructions 2pp. 8vo are headed 'APPX 3 TO ANNEX D CAMP HOLF SOP NO 2 INSTRUCTIONS TO FAMILIES'. Divided into 13 sections under the headings: Introduction; Wardens; Precautions; Children; Shopping; Special Warning Procedure; Leave; Finally. The map and warning signals 1p. 8vo are printed with 'TROPICAL CYCLONE PLOTTING MAP' above in red and 'HONG KONG'S TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING SIGNALS' below in black. From the private papers of C. A. A. Nicol 1921-2012 OBE CPM AMN who was a 'Member of a joint FCO/MOD department in Hong Kong' between 1970 and 1975. Nicol joined the Malayan Union Police Force in 1950 and served in the Royal Malaysian Police between 1957 and 1967 'to assist in promoting and consolidating the successful transition to full independence. During this period the Special Branch played a vital role in maintaining peace and security in the country.' From the private papers of C. A. A. Pictorial card covers bound with red and blue cord the battalion colours; covers scuffed unevenly tanned and a little worn at the extremities with the head of the spine split; cord faded; a decent copy internally in excellent condition. Pp.2-3 give notices relating to the 'London Corps' again by Fletcher; p.4 concerns the 'Brighton Corps. Head Quarters King's Road December 1891.' Pp.5-6 give details by A. H. Fry Sub-Lieutenant in Command of the five matches in 'The Annual Prize Meeting'. The poster on one side of a 53.5 x 41.5 cm sheet is headed 'Royal Naval Artillery Volunteers. Progress Return of No. 3 Battery for 1890.' Printed by 'W. COLLINS Printer Victoria Works Wendover Road Harlesden.' Folded into the customary packet with the outer title: 'III. BATTERY. "MIRROR." 1890.' In fair condition aged and with grubby reverse. At the head is a large table giving the names of members with a myriad details relating to drill and marksmanship. 'R Harrington sic' is described as 'NE' standing for 'non-efficient'. Beneath the table and occupying the bottom third of the page is various information including 'facts' for which the year 1890 'has been chiefly remarkable': 'The number of Assaults-at-Arms attended by members of the Battery; The number of Cruises the Diligent has gone; The death of surgeon G. H. Bishop a most zealous officer who knew every member of his Battery and was beloved by all who knew him; and the number of Prizes won by the Battery'. A list of the prizes and prize-winners in three columns concludes the page. No copies of either item traced either on OCLC WorldCat or on COPAC.
