Prima edizione di 15 esemplari numerati First edition of 15 numbered copies. <em>La collaborazione tra l'artista danese <strong>Asger Jorn</strong> Vejrum 1914 - Aarhus 1973 e l'editore francese <strong>Georges Visat</strong> Foce Corsica 1910 - Arzacq 2001 fu favorita dalla mediazione di Roberto Matta. Infatti Jorn trovandosi a Parigi alla ricerca di un editore si rivolse all'amico artista che gli fece il nome di Visat con l'assicurazione che lo stampatore non avrebbe di sicuro deluso le sue aspettative. Matta aggiunse che per incontrare Visat bastava attenderlo alle 10 di ogni mattina presso il caffè"; accanto al suo atelier al numero 13 di rue du Dragon. Una mattina Jorn si recò al caffè ma non osando avvicinare l'editore continuò a fissarlo fino a che Visat sentendosi osservato si avvicinò per primo all'Artista. Jorn gli affidò una serie di incisioni parlandogli del suo desiderio di farne un'edizione. Di quella serie di 10 incisioni ne furono stampate solo 15 copie che Visat raccolse in una cartelletta e propose di chiamare ''Suitesurunjaponpourunlivrequin'existepas''. Il testo infatti sarebbe stato pensato ed organizzato in un incontro successivo presso l'Atelier Visat appuntamento che si realizzò soltanto un anno dopo. Ne nacque però un libro del tutto nuovo ''Entré"e de secours'' con 9 diverse opere grafiche stampato in 100 esemplari nel 1971. informazioni in parte fornite da Yannick Minous Visat.</em> Editions Georges Visat, unknown

The two framework agreements were signed at the White House and were witnessed by President Jimmy Carter. The second of these frameworks A Framework for the Conclusion of a Peace Treaty between Egypt and Israel led directly to the 1979 Egypt - Israel peace treaty. Due to the agreement Sadat and Begin received the shared 1978 Nobel Peace Prize. A beautifully-bound first edition of the classic French play about the large-nosed Cyrano obliged to help another more handsome man woo the beautiful Roxanne who Cyrano already loves. Rostand's play stages the tragic complicity between two halves of man puts into question the existence of justice or happy love in this world but ends with the evidence of hope: in the guise of Christian it is the soul of Cyrano that Roxanne loved. This drama in five acts saw its first production on December 27th 1897 with the leading role played by Constant Coquelin who went on to play the role 410 times and toured the play in North America. The dedication of this book reads " C'est à l'âme de CYRANO que je voulais dédier ce poème. Mais puisqu'elle a passé en vous COQUELIN c'est à cous que le dédie. E. R." I wanted to dedicate this poem to the soul of CYRANO. Since that soul has passed through you COQUELIN I dedicated to you. E.R. A vintage gelatin silver panoramic photograph visible image size 185 × 952 mm recently reinserted behind glass in a contemporary polished wooden frame external dimensions 273 × 1040 mm; in excellent condition. The Australian War Memorial has the following caption on an example of this impressive group photograph in its collection: 'Wendover Buckinghamshire England 1918-03-11. Large group portrait of officers cadets NCOs and men of the Australian Flying Corps AFC together with two women centre in front of a B.E.2 aircraft at Halton Park Camp. In the centre sitting are Major A. Broun Officer Commanding Depot; Major Henley Commissioner of the Australian Comforts Fund; Mrs Henley; Miss Henley; Lieutenant Colonel E.H. Reynolds Staff Officer for Aviation; Major Brooke Australian Army Medical Corps AAMC. Fifth from the wing is Wesley William Jones. The unit is an AFC Training Depot where aircrew and mechanics are trained. The men wearing wings badges on their uniforms right are flying instructors while the men with white hatbands on their hats left are aircrew cadets who are being trained as pilots and observers. Sitting in the front row of the group are the members of the AFC band with their musical instruments. Laid out on the ground in front of the group are three flags two Union Jacks and an Australian flag between them. Behind the flags is a large stack of gift parcels provided by the Australian Comforts Fund. They are labelled: "Australian Xmas greetings"' AWM reference C303998. English-born Sir Thomas Henley 1860-1935 migrated to Sydney in 1884 and became an influential politician and building contractor. In 1915 he 'volunteered to go to Egypt as a commissioner for the Citizens' War Chest Fund. Organizing the distribution of comforts from Alexandria Marseilles and Le Havre France and London Henley personally accompanied the goods. He was gazetted lieutenant-colonel to overcome objections to civilians entering the battle zone and was appointed CBE and KBE in 1920' 'Australian Dictionary of Biography'. Carol I born Prince Karl of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen was the first monarch of Romania from 1866 to his death in 1914 ruling as Prince Domnitor from 1866 to 1881 and as King from 1881 to 1914. He was elected Prince of the Romanian United Principalities on 20 April 1866 after the overthrow of Alexandru Ioan Cuza by a palace coup d'etat. In May 1877 he proclaimed Romania an independent and sovereign nation. The defeat of the Ottoman Empire 1878 in the Russo-Turkish War secured Romanian independence and he was proclaimed King on 26 March O.S. 14 March 1881. He was the first ruler of the Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen dynasty which ruled the country until the proclamation of a socialist republic in 1947. During his reign Carol I personally led Romanian troops during the Russo-Turkish War and assumed command of the Russo/Romanian army during the siege of Plevna. The country achieved internationally recognized independence via the Treaty of Berlin 1878 and acquired Southern Dobruja from Bulgaria in 1913. Domestic political life was organized around the rival Liberal and Conservative parties. During Carol's reign Romania's industry and infrastructure were much improved but the country still had an agrarian-focused economy and the situation of the peasantry failed to improve leading to a major revolt bloodily suppressed by the authorities. He married Princess Elisabeth of Wied in Neuwied on 15 November 1869. They only had one daughter Maria who died at the age of three. Carol never produced a male heir leaving his elder brother Leopold next in line to the throne. In October 1880 Leopold renounced his right of succession in favour of his son William who in turn surrendered his claim six years later in favour of his younger brother the future king Ferdinand. Wikipedia. Mustafa Hasim Pasha 1852-1920 was one of the Ottoman grand viziers of Georgian origin. He was son of Sheik Al-Islam Ahmed Muhtar 1807-1882. He served as the President of the Court of Justice and the Undersecretariat of the Ministry of Justice. Iacob N. Publisher's original cream cloth boards with red designs and titling. Spine tips bruised. Slight darkening at the tip and tail of the spine. Minor foxing to the page block edges which has crept into the text in places. Front free end-paper professionally replaced using matching paper stock of a similar vintage. Offsetting to the rear free end-paper. No inscriptions. Some light pushing at the spine ends and tiny bumping at the lower front corner. Some light age related markings to the boards. Mild toning and spotting to the text-block. The scarce dustwrapper is unclipped showing the original publisher's price of 7s 6d net to the inside flap. The dustwrapper has a small chip at the top left-hand corner of the spine not affecting any lettering and is toned to the rear panel. Otherwise the artwork is uncommonly bright. The second in Tove Jansson's series of 'Moomin' books. Profusely illustrated in black and white by the author. Published in Swedish in1946 it marks the first appearance of several main character such as Snufkin and the Snork Maiden. The English translation published here in 1951 is a translation of the first version of Jansson's book which she was later to revise. Rare in this the first English edition. A serviceable copy in an uncommonly vivid and complete dustwrapper which importantly is not price-clipped. Ernest Benn hardcover
