Elias Salomon Nathan Arzt und Schriftsteller geboren zu Eutin am 17.Mai 1807 Sohn von Salomon Aron Nathan und Caroline geb. Warrisch studierte Medicin in Kiel und promovierte daselbst 1830. Machte 1831 den polnischen Feldzug mit und ließ sich dann in Hamburg als praktischer Arzt und starb daselbst 1862 am 5. Juni. Er hinterließ eine Witwe Jeanette geb. Segalla und zwei Kinder. Neben seiner ausgebreiteten Praxis befasste er sich auch eingehend mit jüdischer Geschichte und Literatur und übersetzte unter anderem unter dem Pseudonym "Essena" Jospeh Salvadors "Histoire des institutions de Moise et du Peuple Hebreu" in Deutsche 3 Teile Hamburg 1836 mit Einleitung von Gabriel Riesser. Dann schrieb er "Gedanken aus dem Tagebuche eines Juden über die drei großen Propheten der europäischen Geschichte" das. 1837 und "Denkwürdige Beispiele aus der Kirchengeschichte f. herrschende und beherrschte Gemeinschaften" Hamburg 1855. "Ueber Aether-Rausch" /Hamburg 1847 und "Ueber das psychische Lachen".
