ABOUT THE BOOK:- The importance of efficient urban governance needs no elaboration in an increasingly urbanising world. Cities with high population densities throw significant challenges of transportation, safety, urban revitalisation, social inclusion and cohesion, environmental protection, water, air, energy, sanitation and climate changes which will magnify in the near future if not properly addressed now. ABOUT THE AUTHOR:- Dr. C. Nagaraja Rao received his M.A. degree (1980) and Ph.D. (2010) from S.V.University, Tirupathi. Rao served as Deputy Field Officer (Tech) in the Directorate General of Security, Government of India (1976-78). He joined the Government of Andhra Pradesh as Municipal Commissioner in 1979 and served in various capacities till his retirement as Additional Director.
