Pike in 1939 as an addition to the historical rooms and galleries created in 1932 the diorama events were carefully researched and built by employees of the Museum Extension Program sponsored by the WPA during the Great Depression. He was already wealthy and politically well known when he came to Weathersfield, Vermont in 1812.
