In each volume is an 19th century bookseller's tag affixed to the bottom edge inside the upper board from "H. Sotheran & Co. Booksellers 140 Strand London". There is an inscription on a preliminary leaf stating the following; "Given to me in September 1919 at Hemstead Hall by Mrs. Barker as a memorial of her Father and my friend Sir R. H. Ingles Palgrave who died in January of that year in his 92' year. T. G. Bonney". Internally generally firmly bound with plate facing pp.13 tender and lacking plates to all volumes. Pages age lightly toned to the extremities with occasional spotting heavier to the front and rear.
