Innen einzelne Bleistiftnotate auf Vorsatz, Tafeln zum Teil sehr sorgfältig an den alten Knickstellen hinterlegt, an der rechten Blattkante leicht gerändert und gebräunt, sonst wohlerhalten. Altersentsprechend guter Zustand. Deutsche Ausgabe des französischen Werks "Les expressions des passions de l’âme", hier in der zweiten Auflage aus dem Jahr 1804. Johann Kaspar Lavater (1741-1801), Swiss theologian and mystic is chiefly remembered for this work on physiognomy. Derived from the works of Giambattista della Porta, this is the art of determining character and personality from facial characteristics and shapes.
