Rex Scouten was the Chief Usher of the White House four US Presidents Nixon Ford Carter Reagan then White House curator from 1986 until 1997. Scouten was known to be professional and discrete in his relationships with the nations top leaders. Smith was in the good graces of President Nixon. Smith was supporting the Vietnam War and endorsed Vice President Agnew's shots at the media. In 1974 Smith would call for Nixon's resignation. Howard K. Smith was an American journalist reporter war correspondent and anchor of ABC News. He was known as one of "Murrow's Boy's" a reference to his close association with Edward R. Murrow.
