Jannar 1703 zu Neustadt a. 0. bezog 1723 die Universität Leipzig um Medicin zu studiren und zwar als Alumnus electoralis. Im Jahre 1728 wurde er Magister und Baccalaureus der Medicin 1729 aber erwarb er nach Verteidigung seiner Diss.: "De viribus miner arum et miner alium medicamsntosis" die medicinische Doctorwürde. Während der Jahre 1730-1733 machte er auf Befehl des Kurfürsten Friedrich August II. eine naturwissenschaftliche Reise nach Afrika trat nach der Rückkehr von derselben als Prof. ord. in die Facultät ein deren beständiger Decan er von 1747 bis zu seinem Tode 5. December-1757 war. Seine wissenschaftliche und literarische Thätigkeit war vorwiegend den Naturwissenschaften zugewendet obschon er auch mehrfache die Medicin direct betreffende Arbeiten geliefert hat z. B. über die Art Sectionen anzustellen über Venen über verschiedene Medicamente de usu partium carmen s. Physiologia metrica de morbis carmen Anthropologia forensis de vulneribus dispositione vulnerati lethalibus de limitibus misericordiae in exercenda arte u.s.w. - Ein ausführliches Verzeichniss der Schriften Hebenstreit's - zum grössten Theile akademische Gelegenheitsschriften - findet sich bei ADELUNG; eine grosse Anzahl derselben sind auch in HALLER'S Bibliotheca chir. II pag. 201 erwähnt. Er schrieb auch: "Erklärung griechischer Wörter von Krankheiten des menschlichen Körpers" mit Anführung der Stellen aus den alten Klassikern 2. Auflage Leipzig 1760." Johann Heinrich Schröder um 1757-1812 deutscher Porträt- und Historienmaler tätig u.a. in Berlin und Kassel; Schüler von Daniel Chodowiecki und Professor an der Berliner Akademie. Eberhard Siegfried Henne 1749-1816 deutscher Kupferstecher geboren in Berlin wirkte dort vor allem als Buchillustrator und Porträtstecher u.a. für Verlage in Berlin und Stettin. Das Blatt erschien 1786 als Frontispiz im 70. Band erstem Stück der "Allgemeinen deutschen Bibliothek" bei Friedrich Nicolai in Stettin. Frontispiz zu einem Band der "Allgemeinen deutschen Bibliothek" das den Verleger und Buchhändler Johann Ernst Wichmann als königlich-großbritannischen Hofbuchhändler in Hannover präsentiert. Das Brustbild im Rundmedaillon ist in eine streng rechtwinklige Rahmenarchitektur mit Schraffurfeldern eingebettet; darüber ein Lorbeerfeston darunter eine geschwungene Kartusche mit der Legende "Johann Ernst Wichmann königl. grossbritannischer Hofbuchhändler zu Hannover". Die Kombination von Rundmedaillon Lorbeer und Architekturrahmen folgt der klassizistischen Frontispiz-Ästhetik der 1780er Jahre und verbindet bürgerliche Repräsentation mit gelehrter Würde. Stilistisch zeigt sich Hennes präzise Linienführung und feine Kreuzschraffur wie sie für seine Buchillustrationen typisch ist. Johann Ernst Wichmann Lebensdaten in den gängigen Nachschlagewerken nicht gesichert war Hofbuchhändler des Königs von Großbritannien in Hannover und als Verleger bzw. Mitverleger der "Allgemeinen deutschen Bibliothek" tätig; in dieser Funktion gehörte er zum Netzwerk aufgeklärter Buchhändler um Friedrich Nicolai. Die porträtierte Person steht damit im Kontext des späten 18. Jahrhunderts in dem Buchhandel und Zeitschriftenwesen zentrale Träger der Aufklärung waren. Das Frontispiz verknüpft Wichmanns ökonomische Rolle mit einer gelehrten staatsnahen Selbstdarstellung. In der zeitgenössischen und späteren Rezeption erscheint Wichmann vor allem als Teilhaber am großen Rezensionsorgan "Allgemeine deutsche Bibliothek" und als Hofbuchhändler; sein Bild ist wesentlich durch dieses Frontispiz vermittelt das in Bibliotheks- und Porträtsammlungen überliefert ist. Für die Fachgeschichte des Buchhandels dokumentiert das Blatt die visuelle Selbstdarstellung eines aufgeklärten Verlegers und die Verbindung von Porträtkunst und periodischem Druckwesen.
