Twenty-seven issues of The Illustrated London News bound in one half-leather volume. Green leather spine and corners gilt titles and rules marbled boards edges and endpapers five raised spine bands. Numerous engravings throughout including several with a partial fold-out with an index of these preceding the periodicals and an engraved title page preceding that which states that this volume was released on July 16 1870. The Illustrated London News was the first illustrated weekly magazine in the world first published in May of 1842 and ran as a weekly for over 125 years ceasing publication in 2003 after a period of more limited circulation though the company still exists as a publishing content and digital agency.
