"Revue égyptologique" is the oldest French journal dedicated to the study of Egyptology. It was published from 1880 to 1924 under the direction of Eugène Revillout (the first five years under the direction of Heinrich Brugsch and François Chabas), suspended during the years 1914-1918, and resumed in 1919 as a new series under the direction of Alexandre Moret and Pierre Jouguet. It later became the well-known and long-lasting "Revue d'égyptologie".
