Extrait du Bulletin de l'Institut d'Égypte, 1954-55. Ludwig (Louis) Joseph Gustav Keimer (1893-1957). AEB 4662. ~[Librarium of The Hague offers the largest and finest collection of Egyptological offprint monographs in the rare book market. With the acquisition in recent years of multiple Egyptological libraries (those of Prof. Herman te Velde; Prof. Mathieu Heerma van Voss, Prof. Baudouin van de Walle; Prof. Michel Malaise; Prof. Herman De Meulenaere; Egyptologist Jacobus Visser, and former Trustee of the Egypt Exploration Society, Stewart Dale White), we now hold several thousands of rare offprint monographs which were collected over many years by these scholars. Very limited in number when originally issued and fragile by nature, most are by now practically extinct and the scarce survivors are much sought after. We took upon ourselves to collate, catalogue, and identify each item in accordance with Beinlich-Seeber or Annual Egyptological Bibliography, in the hope that this collection will prove useful for scholars and collectors alike. Quarto. Pp. 39. Original printed wrappers edge frayed, detached, book block loosening. Content is in fine condition. ~ First edition thus. Tirage à part du Recueil de travaux relatifs à la philologie et à l'archéologie égyptiennes et assyriennes, 1907. Alexandre Moret (1868-1938). He was one of the first Egyptologists to study private rights and the law under the Old Kingdom, and his "Donations et Fondations en droit égyptien" (in collaboration with Louis Boulard) is considered one of the most important early studies on the subject. The study is divided into three parts: I. Commentaire des inscriptions de Mten; II. Acte de fondation par un dignitaire de la cour de Khephren; III. Acte de fondation de Senouânkh, prêtre des rois Ousirkaf et Sahourî. Beinlich-Seeber 13960.
Quarto. Pp. 25-30. Plus 2 plates. Original printed wrappers, bit edge frayed, small inscription. In good condition. ~ First edition thus. Extrait du Bulletin de l'Institut français d'Archéologie Orientale, 1942. Alexandre Varille (1919-1951). Presentation copy, signed and dedicated by the author to Egyptologist Prof. Baudouin van de Walle (1901-1988) from whose library this item comes. A unique scholar's copy, it has Varille's shoulder note added in pen. Van de Walle's extensive annotations in pencil appear at bottom of first page as well as occasionally within the text. Loosely inserted there are 8 leaves of manuscript in his characteristic neat hand, apparently citing the hymns in full, stanza by stanza, as well as numerous notes and other texts, partly in hieroglyphs. Extremely rare view into this scholar's mind. Beinlich-Seeber 20053. ~[Librarium of The Hague offers the largest and finest collection of Egyptological offprint monographs in the rare book market.
