Signed and previously owned by Elsa Rogo, an American artist and photographer, educated at Wellesley, who taught art history in Mexico. Rogo married Stefan Hirsch in the 1930's and lived and worked with him in Taos and later Vermont. Hirsch taught at Bennington and Bard Colleges. Their papers are at the American Archives of Art.
