A collection of early poetry by French poet Sully Prudhomme a copy dated from the same work held at the University of Oxford Library on Jisc. In the 'Ouvre' series. This volume comprising poems from 1865 to 1866. With stanzas and poems. Sully Prudhomme was a French poet and essayist linked to the Parnassus school known to be the first winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1901. Illustrated with a frontispiece. In a lovely half vellum binding. In a half vellum binding over cloth covered boards with titles in gilt to the spine now darkened and decorative endpapers. Externally sound with minor shelf wear and some darkening to the spine minor bumping to the extremities. Light marking to the boards and spine. Previous ownership inscription to the front blank page dated 1894. With a minor spotting to the fore edge only affecting the odd leaf particularly to the first and last.
