A rare original printers trade journal this issue dated November 16 1915. The Printers' Bookbinders' Lithographers' and Stationers' Sales and Wants Advertiser was founded in 1887 and went on to 1962. It features a register of new and second-hand machinery engines materials &c. used in the above trades also businesses for sale auction sales partnerships premises to let situations wanted and vacant and all trade wants novelties new inventions & general trade news and is full of wonderful trade adverts throughout. One is in colour advertising the Dalziel Foundry's colour prints and the others printed in black and white either typed drawn of photographic and include adverts for printing services presses materials etc. Condition: This copy is in very good condition for age. Enchanted by the invention he studied the manufacturing process and was soon producing bicycles from a plant in Hartford Connecticut and championing the development of better roads to ride them on. By the 1890s the Pope Manufacturing Company was making about 250000 bicycles a year. But Pope recognized that the automobile was the way of the future. "In 1896 he founded the Columbia Electric Vehicle Co. in Hartford and a year later demonstrated the world's first public production model electric-powered car. His production of 2092 cars some gas-powered in 1899 accounted for nearly half the automobiles made in the United States" connecticuthistory website. This catalogue advertises five different styles Touring Roadster Phaeton Limousine Coupe of the company's 1913 Model 31 a gas-powered vehicle with a powerful engine said to embody "all of those features thus-far perfected and deemed essential to a perfect motor car." First edition of this scarce price list from the storied Weil Bros. fur trading company in Fort Wayne Indiana. During the opening decades of the 20th century there were skyrocketing prices for furs driven by the fashion market especially the more affordable ones such as mink skunk raccoon muskrat opossum and wild cat. Premiums were paid for mink beaver and especially otter. The Weil Bros. had initially established their business in 1870 and continued to operate for decades often issuing Trappers’ Guide books advertising in trapping and taxidermy magazines and issuing catalogues. II. First edition No. 265 of 550 sets mirroring the publication of the Hudson’s Bay Record Society Series but only 500 were available for sale originally of the letters by Dr. John McLoughlin Chief Factor of Fort Vancouver during the period represented here. These letters provide invaluable glimpses of the inner workings of the Fur Trade Pacific Northwest Indians Customs Social History and the political struggles of the time. McLoughlin had been a partner with the North West Company fur traders until merged into the Hudson’s Bay Co. and was appointed Chief Factor to the Columbia District and originally placed at Fort George Astoria but in 1825 moved to Fort Vancouver and constructed by the Company. He directed the fur trapping expeditions throughout the region regularly interacted with the local Native American tribes and aided American missionaries when they first arrived as well as exploiting advantages in what would become British Columbia and Alaska against the Russians.
