Barkan was a Turkish economical historian, also one of the most important economist. Barkan, is primarily a scientist who has brought innovation to the understanding of history and examination in Turkey. He noticed more with his researches in the field of Turkish economic history; The 'Tahrir registries' were first studied systematically by him.
