Con questa edizione, che si presenta come una versione a sé stante, a distanza di vent'anni dalla prima pubblicazione, quelle immagini affiorano in superficie, sempre in corrispondenza a certi dettagli - narrativi o esegetici o anche stilistici - del testo. E si calano nella gabbia tipografica più congeniale e azzardata, che è lo specchio di pagina dove vennero disposte le silografie di un libro che apparve nel 1499 e in cui sembra essere confluito il vasto corso della mitologia classica: la Hypnerotomachia Poliphili. Ogni buon lettore sarà sfidato a cogliere i nessi di questo gioco, che mira a espandere le risonanze delle parole e delle immagini, per via di osmosi, contrappunto e controcanto. Al testo delle Nozze di Cadmo e Armonia si giustappone qui un saggio, Lo sguardo sommario, che tratta di quella singolare e inconfondibile ebbrezza a cui le immagini degli dèi greci - attraverso "le opere e i giorni" di molti secoli - invitano ad abbandonarsi.

Original Uighur version (in Arabic script and roman transcription) of As?h?ab al-kahf (In risala-i H?azrat-i Sult?an Ashabu'l-kahf, Azhâb al-Kâhf) with English translation: Contents, Preface, Introduction, Transcription System, Text (Transcripted), Textual Corrections and Notes, Translation in English, Vocabulary (Transcription of Uyghur vocabulary with English meanings), and Facsimile of original manuscript in Uighur. The treatise on the Companions of the Cave (In risala-i Hazrat-i Sultan Ashabu'l-Kahf) is one of the nine manuscripts in the Mannerheim Collection of Eastern Turki manuscripts. The manuscript belongs to the Finno-Ugrian Society and is kept in the archives of the Society under the code number 2.49.1 (Mannerheim Coll.). Raquette in his article "Collection of Manuscripts from Eastern Turkestan describes all but this particular manuscript from the collection. Halen is the first to register the manuscript in his Handbook of Oriental Collections in Finland under entry number 351; he describes the manuscript as 'Eastern Turki (Uighur-Uzbek) MS, 18:11 cm, 96 p. (47 foll.), without pagination, a hand written copy of a "tazkir" from the tomb of the Seven Brothers in Tuyok, near Kara Hodja. Not described in the catalogue of Raquette". Signed and inscribed by Naskali to Gunnar Jarring, (1907-2002), was a Swedish diplomat and Turkologist.
