The inscription reads 'To my friend Alister Mathews who likes poetry well enough to publish it and who was godparent to many of these poems when they first appeared at the font. Monk Feb 25th 1929'.This is the copy owned by Alister Mathews who operated the Greyhound Press throughout the 1920s through which he published the works of his friend the author Monk Gibbon. Mathews later collected and dealt artwork and literature. Bound in original brown cloth. In original unclipped dust wrapper in removable protective wrap. Externally very smart.
