SIGNED BY TUTE, COSTELLO AND HUGHES ON A BOOKPLATE AFFIXED TO FRONT FREE ENDPAPER VERSO. Excellent overall survey by three acclaimed naval and military historians. Published to mark the thirtieth anniversary of the landings, the strong and deceptively detailed text is supported by a wealth of well-chosen and captioned photographs. It was the first major publication to utilise recently declassified official records, and also includes numerous eye-witness accounts. Material signed by Costello in particular is very scarce.
