Two volumes. Octavo. Pp. 285; 289-662. With a total of 80 plates printed in fine collotype, 40 to each volume. Original printed wrappers, bit discoloured and finger soiled. In a very good condition. ~ First edition. Beautifully illustrated. Collotype is one of the most accurate and attractive methods of photomechanical tonal printing processes. Highly skilled and expensive process, it cannot produce more than a limited number of impressions. It has been used for single-sheet prints and luxury portfolios, and since the 1950s has been abandoned by all except a few small specialist firms. Charles Boreux (1874-1944). Beinlich-Seeber 3500.

Mémoires publiés par les membres de l'Institut français d'archéologie orientale, 50. Charles Boreux (1874-1944) made a speciality of Egyptian ships and nautical matters. [ADDED:] The extremely rare extended Errata & Corrigenda which takes over both sides of a leaf. It was privately compiled at a later date, typed and stenciled in a limited number of copies and today is practically extinct, distributed among few scholars. Loosely inserted.
