Beautiful collection of two prints taken from the scarce work of 1841 about american prisons "Rapports a M. Le Comte de Montalivet sur les penitenciers des Etats Unis" by Frederic Auguste Demetz and Abel Blouet. The work is really important for the study of prisons and the evolution of french and american prison system. The reports of Demetz and Blouet were written after the mission Taqueville in which they visited different prisons in USA and Canada. We have the folded prints with the maps of the prison and the relating three page of text with explanation of planches. In fair conditions, humdity stains.
