Con una narrazione sviluppata attraverso i dialoghi di giudici, avvocati e imputati, il libro restituisce l'atmosfera di quei mesi nel palazzo di Giustizia e nelle sue celle. La presunta pazzia di Hess, le telefonate fra Göring e Goebbels sulla questione ebraica, la negazione dei milioni di morti nei campi di sterminio da parte, tra gli altri, di Streicher e Kaltenbrunner, la sottomissione della Cecoslovacchia ai diktat di Hitler, Ribbentrop e Giiring, la "notte dei lunghi coltelli" e "dei cristalli": nulla è tralasciato e tutto contribuisce a gettare una luce ancora più sinistra sui protagonisti degli orrori del nazismo.
