Twenty highly amusing hand colored lithograph plates all heightened with gum arabic. A few plates with light marginal foxing. <br /> <br /> Publisher's black paper over boards covers elaborately stamped in gilt with "1842 Album" in the center. Covers a little worn at joints and corners some old 'tape' stains on endpapers. An excellent example of a super rare album.<br /> <br /> This is only the second time in over 50 years that we have ever seen this suite of colored lithographs. According to OCLC there are just two copies located in libraries and institutions worldwide: The Morgan Library & Museum and the New York Public Library NY USA.
