Ouvrage qui traite avec sérieux du nu dans l'histoire et l'histoire de l'art, avec de nombreuses illustrations en noir et blanc (peintures, dessins, photographies) dans le texte. Envoi de l'auteur à Jacques Delarue (1919-2014), résistant, historien et ancien commissaire de Police. Robert Miquel alias Romi (1905-1995) était un journaliste et écrivain à l'esprit facétieux, également historien des lieux de plaisirs parisiens tels les cafés-concerts et maisons de prostitution. En 1952, il publie un ouvrage intitulé Maisons closes dans l'histoire, l'art, la littérature et les moeurs (1952) auquel Jacques Delarue participe, grâce à sa collection de documents personnels. Attiré par l'insolite, Romi était connu pour son humour et ses nombreux canulars. A ce titre, on se souviendra de la prétendue inauguration de la statue de Jean-Sébastien Mouche, fondateur de la flotte des bateaux-mouches parisiens. Véritable mystificateur, il se fait aussi passer pour un artiste peintre dont les toiles seront prisées par les américains entre les années 1960 et 1980, un certain Fernand Boilauges! Exemplaire auquel est joint : - 3 cartes postales du couple Miquel adressées au époux Delarue - un article de journal découpé mentionnant le canular de Romi sur la nécessaire ivrognerie des croque-morts. André Billy, chargé d'écrire pour la une du Figaro une chronique dénonçant les méfaits de l'alcoolisme finira par se confondre en excuses devant le témoignage poignant d'un lecteur indigné et croque-mort depuis 17 ans nommé Robert Miquel... Exemplaire en très bon état

This book is written as a source book for the people who want to learn stained glass art, and who teach to make stained glass. Today books on this field are mostly foreign works and include history of stained glass art and its samples instead of how to make it. It is evident that man cannot learn making stained glass by those works. Therefore when I form the contents I thought that it is more useful to explain the structure of glass, required materials and techniques than to tell history of stained glass at length. Then I planed a book devoted entirely to the practice. As I recount my experiences gained in my lectures lasted several years, and by my works in Turkey and also in abroad I try to explain techniques as such more conceivable. So I endeavoured to compose a book so that it helps the students to learn stained glass taught in colleges. I gave a vaste place especially to stained glass with lead profiles and plaster-of-Paris and tiffany glass, and I mentioned briefly works made by machines. I present abundantly examples aimed to explain the topic more comprehensible. The samples are picked from my works, my students' works and the others. I gave attention to aid the topic by photographs. My wish is to present a work that helps those who make stained glass and want to learn it.
