Text by Alexandre Alexandre. After graduating from the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts, he began to design theatre posters with the support of Muhsin Ertugrul. He participated in international poster exhibitions and biennales 1966 and held his first personal exhibition in Istanbul in 1969. He has posters in Munich, Amsterdam and Warsaw. Ertel is the winner of various awards, including the Grand Prize at the International Paris Cinema Posters Competition, and the Achievement Award at the Graphics 83 Exhibition Ihap Hulusi Poster Competition in 1983. He, as a graphic artist, uses communicative features and original aesthetic values in his theatre and cinema posters. Following on from Ihap Hulusi, he created a new era in cinema and theatre posters which reflect his discipline and ambition. Extremely rare.

Today, the collection can be considered one of the most important and outstanding examples among the rare, consciously created, and long-lasting ones of its kind in Turkey. Apart from the logic of creating the Huma Kabakc¿ Collection, its evolution/growth over time, and its subjectivity, the exhibition was designed by keeping in mind its structure, reviewed and changed from time to time, with both objectivity and an art historical subjectivity. The catalogue, in that sense, brings to fore the common and diverging points of the two generations by which the collection has been sustained, through essays and works explanations.

Une somme indispensable pour l'étude de l'uvre gravé, sculpté et peint du maître symboliste, remarquable pour la qualité d'impression des héliogravures de la maison Hanfstaengl, restituant à la perfection la profondeur des noirs de Klinger. Max Klinger (1857-1920) est l'un des géants du symbolisme allemand, ayant profondément influencé les surréalistes (notamment Giorgio de Chirico et Max Ernst) par la puissance onirique, fantastique et parfois d'une étrange modernité psychologique de ses gravures. Cette publication de 1914 est un modèle d'édition d'art de l'époque, imprimée en typographie soignée et ornée d'une splendide iconographie (reproductions en héliogravure, planches hors-texte, fac-similés).
