The detailed story of the three trials in which author Oscar Wilde was the principle figure at the Central Criminal Court in London in 1895 who was as is noted in the introduction: “A well-known dramatic author prosecuted an eccentric and pugnacious peer for criminally libelling him the libel having been uttered by the Marquess of Queensbury in an alleged attempt to save his son Lord Alfred Douglas from the author’s evil communications.
