198126406Los Angeles: Sagebrush Inc. Near Fine. c.1981. First Edition. Hardcover. no dust jacket a touch of wear at base of spine otherwise a nice clean copy virtually as new. B&W and color photographs facsimiles INSCRIBED fulsomely and SIGNED by the author on the title page: "For ____ / With thanks / Hope you & your / friends enjoy these / GM years for long / & often / Always / George Montgomery / 1994." Everything you always wanted to know and then some more and then some more after that about the husky darkly handsome actor who is best remembered for -- quick name a classic George Montgomery movie! betcha can't. Starting out as a stuntman in serials and B-westerns in the 1930s Montgomery had a decent if unspectacular career as a leading man during the 1940s and 1950s subsequently appearing in both movies and TV he starred in his own series "Cimarron City" in 1958/59 while also branching out into directing and writing. Offscreen he was quite the accomplished fellow showing real talent as a painter sculptor and furniture craftsman -- all of which activities are extensively showcased within this elaborately-produced tome along with a full treatment of his career in movies on TV and on the stage. There's also quite a bit on his art collection -- apart from the art he created himself -- including mini-biographies of a number of the artists whose work he collected. NOTE that additional postage charges will be assessed for international shipping of this heavy book; if this concerns you please contact us for a shipping quote before placing your order. ALSO NOTE that a "DeLuxe" slipcased edition of this book was also issued but this ain't it. Signed by Author . Sagebrush Inc. hardcover books
