Ottimo stato di conservazione di questa guida di grande importanza per ricostruire la storia locale di Novara e dei suoi sobborghi con interessanti notizie riguardanti il commercio cittadino. L’opera dopo un’introduzione dedicata a dati statistici commerciali, descrive la storia di Novara e di personaggi novaresi dalle origini fino al 1572. Seguono poi l’elenco delle fiere, i ragguagli delle monete e la tariffa monetaria, l’elenco delle feste, carrozze, teatro, facchini, ghiacciai, falegnami, disegnatori, calzolai, hotel, ristoranti, ombrellai, orologiai, panettieri, pizzicagnoli e salsamentari, fotografi, rigattieri, deposito di sanguisughe, sarti, stampatori, tappezzieri, tessuti tutti in cotone, vetrai, maniscalchi, argentieri, barbieri e parrucchieri, birra e gazeuse, caffettieri liquoristi e sale da bigliardo, pasticceri ecc. Book is in bright orange cloth HB with black print at spine. Covers show no wear other than two small impact marks at top edge and bumped at lower spine. . Binding is solid and square, covers have sharp corners, exterior shows no other blemishes, text/interior is clean and free of marking of any kind. Dust jacket shows edge wear with small tears, 2" closed tear at lower spine. Heavilly illustrated with b&w photos, some color, floorplans, architectural drawings,, elevations, exteriors, interiors, lots of detail. Originally published on the occasion of the exhibition at the publisher's gallery. Nouvelle édition en partie originale (Talvart, VII, 239). Roussseurs et coiffes frottées néanmoins bon ex. Emile GOUDEAU (Périgueux 1849- Paris 1906) est une figure parisienne. Avec Charles Cros, Alphonse Allais et autres il fonda " Le Club des Hydropathes " au quartier Latin. Il ouvrira ensuite avec Rodolphe Salis le célèbre cabaret du " Chat Noir " à Montmartre. Il connut avec " Fleurs du bitume " un immense succés.
