It was located downtown Atlanta on a city block bounded by Peachtree Street Luckie Street Forsyth Street and Williams Street. The hotel closed in 1965 and was demolished in the same year. The Equitable Building in Atlanta now occupies the former site of the hotel. unknown unknown

Yokohama; affixed to rear endpapers is a fold out color map of Yokohama City illustrated advertisements map. Book is divided into three parts: Part One is a guide book for Yokohama and immediate vicinity; Part Two is a section of Anglo-Japanese words for conversation including vowels consonants numbers phrases etc. Phrases for use at a hotel for a departure weather engaging a jinrikisha at a railway station at a store etc.; Part Three is a section of advertisements for hotels steamship lines alcoholic beverages silks embroideries cut-velvets silversmiths livery stables banks cloisonne tailors bamboo works and much more. There are pictures of Pacific Mail Steam Ship Company's ocean going steamers. The first page of the second section has a small closed tear to the bottom edge and covers are lightly scraped else the interior is clean and bright and the fold out color map is in fine condition for an overall very good copy. 17803Arthur Ernest Hoyle Bull's Head Hotel Bull Green Halifax Yorkshire. 1910 to 1950 with accompanying documents dated 1923 1928 1936 and 1939. ONE: Spirit Stock Book. 116pp. 4to. Internally in good condition on aged paper in heavily-worn cloth binding with worn paper label on front cover. The purpose of the book is given in the description of Item Two below. Detailing the sale or return of spirits exclusively to Samuel Webster & Sons between 1910 and 1950. The entries on each page are divided into eight printed columns: 'Date when the Spirits were Sent out' 'No. of the Certificate sent with them' 'Christian and Surname of the Persons or Name of the Firm to whom the Spirits were sent' 'Of what Place' 'Gallons of Spirits Sent out' 'Kind or Quality of the Spirits' 'Strength of the Spirits' 'Galloons at Proof'. The last column is usually left blank and the kinds of spirits include rum Scotch Irish Canadian Brandy Gin and occasionally Cherry Brandy Benedictine Drambuie. The other eight documents are in good condition on lightly-aged paper. n TWO: Printed 'Pattern of Spirits Stock Book'. Excise document. Made out in manuscript to 'Mr. A. E. Hoyle of Bulls Head Hotel Retailer of Spirits Halifax' dated 15 May 1923 and signed by Excise officer R. Goodfellow. 1p. folio with example of layout of form on reverse of leaf. 'Every rectifier dealer and retailer must provide himself with and keep a Stock Book according to a pattern to be obtained on application to the proper officer and must on receiving any Spirits and also on sending out or delivering any Spirits required to be accompanied by a certificate enter in his Stock Book the particulars specified in that behalf in the Fourth Schedule.' First edition of this brightly illustrated catalogue for uniforms and service apparel during the Great Depression featuring stylish uniforms for men and women wait staff as well as doctors nurses hospital attendants utility dresses chef’s aprons and more. With most sewn from durable and long wearing cotton duck cloth the company presents here multiple service ensembles for kitchen staff dining rooms and taverns many with decidedly Art Deco lines and patterns. The company originated in 1878 when Carmine Ostari Angelica 1850-1883 created an entirely new cook’s uniform for her husband Cherubino Angelica d. 1898 while cooking for the railroad based out of St. Louis MO. Featuring a tall white hat with a crown double-breasted white coat cloth buttons sewn to the sides and reversible layers of cloth to protect from heat and grease splatter and even cuffs which could be turned down to function as hot pads. Within a couple years Cherubino with Carmine supplying the uniforms founded the Angelica Corporation and after her death his second wife Therese Hirsch del Angelica b. 1855 would join the company and oversaw the introduction of the iconic Harvey Girls uniforms. After Levy and his brother purchased the business and the sewing machines in 1903 the company quickly expanded to dominate the service uniform market and still is one of the primary suppliers of uniforms across the country. 1930652j1093Canada: Canadian Pacific - Hotel Department. Good. 1930. First Edition. Paperback. A glorious memento of Winnipeg's famed Royal Alexandra Hotel once the social centre of the city. "Designed for the Canadian Pacific Railway by Montreal architects Edward and William Maxwell and built by contractor Alexander A. Woodward in 1906 the 'Royal Alex' was considered one of the finest hotels in western Canada. It closed its doors in 1967 and was torn down in 1971." - Manitoba Historical Society Archives. Undated but cover illustration includes a horse-drawn wagon suggesting a printing date circa 1930 or prior. A half-page black and white aerial photo of the hotel shows it environs at the north-east corner of Higgins Avenue and Main with Canadian Pacific railway station adjoining. Beneath this photo Winnipeg's winter climate is described as having a 'crisp tingling cold that sets eyes asparkle and sends the blood racing.' Includes very detailed information about the hotel's many amenities and capacities plus four pages of floor plans. A one-page map of the city vividly reveals the subsequent growth of the city. 18994669Sandon BC: Hotel Reco 1899. Single Sheet. Very Good. A 19th century weekly payroll sheet 14 x 17 inches wide from the storied Kootenay mining town of Sandon British Columbia. This Hotel Reco pay sheet honors the Cook as the most valuable employee with his .75 / day recorded in the pay column. Pay sheet w. fold lines hole punch holes at top edge some soil stains and faint offset from a once adjoining page also noted. The Hotel Reco burned to the ground on May 4th 1900 - along with most of the rest of Sandon - while this payroll sheet was safely stored inside a fire-proof safe making this historical record a very uncommon survivor indeed. The double-page spread on the inside gives an elaborate dinner menu on p. 2 for Tuesday March 19 including turtle soup leg of mutton jole and greens calf's feet a la Horli Sago cakes with wine roast prairie grouse with jelly as well as assorted vegetables relishes pastries and desserts; the wine list on page 3 lists 10 champaigns 14 clarets 3 ports 9 "native wines" and assorted white wines cider liqueurs ales and porters all with prices affixed. Fine example. The Louisville Hotel opened in 1833 was the city's first large elegant hotel; it closed in 1938 and was razed in 1949. M. Kean & Co the owner of the hotel also ran the Maxwell House Hotel in Nashville which opened in 1869. John P. Morton & Co unknown

Stiff printed card wraps with leatherette texture stapled. Secured in a brown cloth binder illustrated in gilt with the Bergonian Hotel logo. Near Fine. In 1927 the Bergonian Hotel opened at 405 Olive Way the corner of Fourth and Olive and existed as such for four-or-so years before being rechristened the Mayflower; today it's known as the Mayflower Park. The hotel was built during a hotel boom near the downtown retail core it was one of the last hotels completed being surpassed by the Roosevelt Hotel which opened in 1930. Single sheet printed double sided folded into 8 panels title image printed in blue and red shows a romantic scene across the river to the Bund with traditional Chinese craft and a modern ship in the foreground. Browning occasional light marks creasing and wear but overall a good copy of a scarce piece of Shanghai ephemera. Text in Japanese. Tourist brochure published by the Japanese inn Hinomaru Ryokan in Shanghai in the mid-1930s. The brochure is undated but it appears to have been published sometime after the First Shanghai Incident in 1932. Hinomaru Ryokan was named in honour of the Japanese national flag which was and is commonly called Hinomaru in Japanese. <br> <br>This interesting piece of Japanese Shanghai ephemera provides an outline of Shanghai and its Japanese community at a time when the Japanese residents numbered about 29000. The inn promotes its convenient location within the Japanese community and reassures visitors that the Hinomaru Ryokan is a safe place to stay given is close proximity to approximately 2000 Japanese troops stationed at the Marine's quarters at the ready to protect the residents. It also advertises the free tours of the area it runs and states it is a designated place of accommodation by the Japanese Consulate South Manchurian Railways Manchukuo embassy and the Japanese Tourist Bureau. Additionally the brochure lists the primary sights to be seen in Shanghai Suzhou and Hangzhou a 6-day sightseeing tour plan and train shipping and air schedules and prices. . 日の丸旅館. 1926605Oklahoma City: Hotel Kingkade 1926. 16 x 6 1/2 inches. Very good condition. Route 66- juThe Hotel Kinked opened in 1912 in Oklahoma City. It billed itself as Gateway to Oklahoma. The map on the verso is small but powerful in its image. It shows the route from Chicago to Los Angeles. The is highlighting with a red arrow to Oklahoma City. Numerous towns are located along the way. The banner a the top says in a scroll Main Street of America. Below the scroll is the course of the road on an elevation chart that tops out at the Continental Divide at 7265 feet. . The map below is beautiful in its presentation of "The Mother Road." Also highlighted in red are Chicago St. Louis and Loa Angeles. Also included are mileage charts for the users going east or west. The distances are from Oklahoma City. This is a must have piece that will take up little room in any serious collection of Route 66! Hotel Kingkade unknown

1926468New York: General Drafting 1926. 20 1/2 x 15 3/4 inches. Very good condition with mild soiling overall appropriate for its age and probable usage. Liberty highway was founded in 1919 at the height of the trails movement. The route runs primarily through New York state. It covers the area between New York and Cleveland not following the route through Albany and along the Erie Canal. The hotel owners along the route were the principal sponsors. This map was printed and distributed in 1926. The map was compiled in 1925 and does not use the federal numbering system. The Liberty Highway is the only road laid out in red. There are few maps that were dedicated to this highway. The association lasted into the 1930s.This map is a cartographic artifact that fits nicely into and named trail collection. For that matter it is important to any road map collection. General Drafting unknown
