Hardcover no dust jacket. Original blue cloth binding with gilt titles to spine and front board along with a gilt vignette of a miner to front board in very good condition with a little shelf wear to top & tail of spine some rubbing to tips and a few marks to boards. Inside a little foxing to title page and last few plates otherwise all pages in clean and bright condition the plates themselves are in wonderful condition bright and clear. A very good tightly bound copy of this study by Greenwell who was one of the founders of the North of England Institute of Mining and Mechanical Engineers an active member of the Institution of Civil Engineers and a Fellow of the Geological Society of London. <br /><br /></p> E. & F.N. A fine set of the preferred issue with all the plates hand-coloured. The set also has an interesting association with its author: the original owner Frederick DuCane Godman an English lepidopterist entomologist and ornithologist was one of the twenty founding members of the British Ornithologists' Union and collaborated with Bowdler Sharpe on a number of ornithological publications. hardcover

19008150C1900. Magdeburg: Maschinenfabrik Buckau. ca. 1900-1910. ca. 29 x 226 cm. 4 Blätter. Einzelne Blätter mit Titel Kopfzeile und Beitexten. Blätter leicht gerändert und randgebräunt sonst gut erhalten. Altersentsprechend guter Zustand. Die historischen Produktinformations- und Werbeblätter stammen sehr wahrscheinlich aus dem Außendienst der einstigen Magdeburger Firma. Die Blätter enthalten noch den Firmennamen Maschinenfabrik Buckau Actien-Gesellschaft zu Magdeburg. Sie stammen also noch deutlich vor dem Zusammenschluss mit der R. Wolf AG im Jahr 1928 woraufhin die Magdeburger Firma den Namen Maschinenfabrik Buckau R. Wolf trug. Die zeitgenössischen Produktblätter bezeichnen sämtlich eine größere Lieferung an die Stadt Hamburg Elbestadt wie auch der Firmensitz Magdeburg selbst. Jedes Blatt trägt im Kopf den Firmennamen und unten eine laufende Nummerierung. Mittig befindet sich jeweils eine große fotografische Abbildung mit Bildunterschrift. Es handelt sich um Kunstdruckpapier die Abbildungen haben demnach noch heute eine gute Qualität. Es handelt sich um für den Druck bearbeitete Fotografien Konturen wurden nachgezeichnet etc. Die kurzen Texte unter den Abbildungen stellen nicht nur ein Produkt der Firma vor sondern zugleich auch die damalige Anwendung des gelieferten Produkts beim Auftraggeber. Folgende Blätter sind hier im einzelnen enthalten: Förderrechen in der Abfisch-Anlage der Stadt Hamburg auf dem nördlichen Elbufer. Jeder Rechen von 33 m Breite und 8 m Höhe mit 15 mm Durchflußweite. Unterschied zwischen höchstem und niedrigstem Wasserstand 45 m. Kraftbedarf je 125 PS Nr. 302 / Abfisch-Anlage auf dem südlichen Elbufer der Stadt Hamburg bestehend aus 4 Gittern von je 198 m Breite und 76 m Höhe Durchflußweite 10 mm Kraftbedarf je 1 PS Nr. 303-305 insgesamt drei verschiedene Ansichten. Die Buckauer Firma lieferte damals in alle Regionen Deutschlands. Die vorliegenden Blätter waren zu Präsentations- und Werbezwecken in fachkundigen Händen gedacht. Äußerst seltene Archivalien einer Traditionsfirma aus der Zeit vor Krieg DDR-Zeit und Abwicklung! unknown
