He also is notable as a writer of comic verse having originated several durable forms for that genre. Frontispieces engraved titles and numerous textual illustrations. Six volumes. Octavo. No former owners name. Illustration opposite page 22 has 1 1/2 " clossed tear. Some finger soiling in early pages. Text pages 21 to end are Japanese double fold while most of the pages before are open. They appear to have been professionally cut rather than opened by an owner. There are no "rough" edges.
